Blue Knob Ski Trip tomorrow!!

The new game plan is to meet up at 1250 on Saturday, January 30th at 8:15am. We will carpool from there. We will play it by ear, but I think the majority will want to ski all day. However, with several cars, some may be leave earlier.

If you plan on coming, please indicate so on the Facebook event. Matt Rooke will be checking the list on Saturday to make sure everyone makes it before we leave (but, please do your best to be on time!)

Haiti Relief: Donations being collected at the Marriott!

"On January 12, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. Thousands of disaster victims need help rebuilding their lives and communities. Many people have gone missing, and those that remain have no place to live, sleep or bathe. Basic supplies are what are needed the most at this time, including:

o Clothing
o Towels
o Linen and Bedding
o Hygiene Basics

We are blessed to have these resources right in our own homes! Look through your homes for those old clothes and toiletries you've been meaning to get rid of and worn-out towels and linens that can be put
to good use again for those in need.

We will gather all of our donations and send them to Rebecca Gabriel, General Manager of the West Palm Beach Courtyard by Marriott. Rebecca
has developed this support-drive, as she and many other associates of the WPB Courtyard had many loved ones affected by the tragedy. Rebecca and her team will distribute the supplies to those in need.

The State College Marriott is collecting all of our supplies now through the next two months (or until people are able to send things into Haiti). You can drop things off at: 1555 University Drive

They'll be collecting for a few weeks at least. Thanks again for your help! "

Wed., Feb. 17 - 11am-1pm @ Irvings. Pastor Dan Nold returns to delve deeper into StrengthsFinder.

Fri., Feb. 26 - 11am-1pm @ Irvings. Cheryl Bonner is back to continue connecting DiSC and StrengthsFinder to career, life and studies.

Interested in serving in Rwanda this summer? Spend time with boys of the orphanage home, while also serving the surrounding community (helping the poor, tutoring English, and more!).

Haiti Relief this weekend:

Benefit concert for Haiti at Christ Community Church at 6:00 pm. Come and support Haiti during a great time of need. You can designate your gifts to relief effort at the concert. For more info, please contact Cindy Way: cindyway@graceprep.com

We will be providing people an opportunity to give to ...Haiti relief this
weekend at Calvary. So all cash and checks with Haiti Hope in the memo will be given to Haiti relief.

Two places that we will mostly likely send the support to are:

Through GAIN: they are in a position to send 500,000 meals to Haiti fairly quickly but they need the shipping money.

Haiti Hope Fund: collect funds that will go to help the people of Port-au-Prince.

Friends, this is a Classic ThirdPlace Tradition!! Forget those boring white elephant gift exchanges, instead raid your closet (or someone else's!) and layer on your Christmas worst!! There will be awards for the 'Badest' sweater and overall gear... bring out your tacky and join us :)

Christmas Unwrapped

12/6 The focus of this year's Christmas Unwrapped will be on serving local families through Angel Tree Ministries, Adopt-a-Family, and a silent auction (all money raised through the silent auction will go toward needy families in the area). This is a Calvary-wide event and should for fun for people of all ages. 2:30 - 3:30PM: Christmas carol sing-along and short, interactive drama. 3:30 - 5:30PM: There will be several activity stations including: Holy Family Photo Shop (nativity family pictures), Countdown to Jesus' Birthday (take-home craft activities), Cookie Decorating Shop (taffy pulling, cookie decorating, and gingerbread house making), Jesus' Birthday Party Palace (kid-friendly games - races, charades, etc.), and Christmas karaoke. There will also be an "open room" for adult games...Christmas charades, Pictionary, and other board games.

Come watch Elf with us this Sunday!

12/6 6:30 - 8:30PM: There will be a showing of the Christmas movie, ELF following Christmas Unwrapped on Sunday, Dec. 6th. Movie and pizza is for Christmas Unwrapped volunteers as well as for ThirdPlacers and college students. The movie will begin as close to 6:30 pm as possible at 1250 University Drive, depending on clean-up time. If you would kindly reply to KENDRA GETTIG at kendragettig@yahoo.com and let her know if you'll be joining us for pizza, it would be helpful and greatly appreciated!! Please feel free to bring blankets, pillows, or other chairs...we're hoping for a comfy night of watching a Christmas movie together! All are welcome, so feel free to invite your friends, co-workers, or neighbors! You are welcome to attend ELF even if you cannot make it to the rest of the day. *If you would like to volunteer to help in the kid-game room, please get in touch with Kendra Gettig.
