ThirdPlace Celebration!

ThirdPlace Celebration: Friday, June 20th: 6:30pm-7:30pm at Calvary! We have seen God do incredible things in and through members of ThirdPlace. It is our desire to stop and celebrate the great things that God is doing! This will be accomplished through spending time together while enjoying appetizers. Following that time, we will have a time of sharing … a time to encourage one another with what God is doing in and through us. The celebration will also include a time of worship, live music, and prayer. We will specifically be praying for people transitioning to another stage in their lives (couples who are newly engaged or married, people moving to different locations, people going on short term missions trips, etc.). We want to bless people as they transition. Please join us as we celebrate together, eat together, and send off our friends! Adopt-A-Child at Boys' Home in Rwanda

Sponsorship of a boy at the Umuryango Boys’ Home is $40 per month and we are looking for a one-year commitment. You can do it on your own, or if you can’t do it alone, feel free to pull in a group of your friends or Life Group and do it together...a great way to build community and serve together! We’ve seen this program bless the street children in the home in countless ways, and relationships established between the sponsors and the boys is remarkable. Helpsline ministry at Calvary

We get requests to help people in the area with moving needs. A few requests have been people from Calvary, but in general they are people in the community who are not physically able to move themselves and do not have family/friends in the area that can help them out. The majority of the moves are usually done on Saturdays (whenever possible) since it makes it easier to find volunteers who work during the week. This is an opportunity to help out when you have time available and does not commit anyone to any specific opportunity or weekend. I send out an email or call to see who might be able to help once there is a move request in with a specific date/time established. 6/23-27: CALVARY SPORTS CAMP FOR KIDS

Considering volunteering for a week that will change kids’ lives…and yours! Calvary's Children's Ministry will once again be partnering with an organization called Uncharted Waters (http://www.unchartedwaters.org) to bring a high quality sports camp to State College. We have the potential to expose 150 kids to the gospel and solid biblical teaching while doing what they love -- playing sports and enjoying their friends. The camp is June 23-27 from 9:00 am – 12:15 pm. The sports to choose from include basketball, soccer, and cheerleading – we’ve love for you to volunteer to help! If you have a heart for kids, are excited about reaching kids for Christ at a KEY time in their lives, and love sports, this may be a ministry for you. 6/18-22: BABYSITTING HELP NEEDED AT STATE THEATRE FOR VARIED TIMES

I am looking for some people who would be willing to help babysit the six Von Trapp children during upcoming performances. Need: two people to babysit per two casts (at the dress rehearsal and the two shows for that cast) The schedule: Blue Cast: Dress Rehearsal 6/18 from 6-11 p.m. Show 6/20 at 6:30 p.m. Show 6/21 at 1 p.m. Green Cast: Dress Rehearsal 6/19 from 6-11 p.m. Show 6/21 at 6:30 p.m. Show 6/22 at 2:00 p.m. All rehearsals will be at The State Theater. The responsibilities would be to simply keep an eye on the children in the break room when they are not on stage, and to send them backstage when they need to be prepared to go onstage. The sitters will be provided with a sheet that tells them when the kids need to go. In all reality, the kids are awesome and they know what they need to do on their own.
