The house is located about 10 miles outside of State College, in the Gatesburg area. It is a nice and quiet area. It's a 4 bedroom house, two of which are occupied by my daughter and I. There is ample living space. We have satellite TV, phone, and wireless internet. No charge for parking (may have garage space available). Some furnishings for one bedroom are available if needed. The tenant would have free use of kitchen area, washer and dryer, and storage space in basement. I have 1 acre of land with a dedicated garden space.
Rent for the smaller of the two rooms would be $350/month, the larger of the two rooms $400/month and includes all utilities. Security deposit would be one month's rent.
I do have a cat.

Food Packing for Haiti: Rescheduled for Sat. March 27th!!
Pack Food for Haiti: Reschedule for Saturday, March 27th, 10am-3:30pm
On Saturday, March 27th a team from Calvary will be going to Lancaster to the GAIN warehouse to pack food for Haiti. We will be packing beans and rice and perhaps a few other things. The meals we pack will be headed to Haiti within weeks.

Service Opportunity at the YMCA: Help w/Underwater Egg Hunt!
The YMCA needs 5 adult volunteers to help with their Underwater Egg Hunt on April 2 & 3rd. Volunteers will be stationed at the egg table (you will open eggs to see if prize tickets are inside, and also pass out a gift bag to each participant), the prize table (you will receive prize tickets and pass out the corresponding prize bag), or at the floatation table (handing out lifejackets). The event is spread over 2 days. April 2nd will need people from 4:30pm to 6:45pm and on April 3rd will need them from 12:30pm to 4:30pm.

Help with set-up & tear-down for Good Friday event

Each year for past few years we've hosted an event at Calvary that has been very meaningful in the lives of people who call Calvary their church home and for many others in the community. On Good Friday we open the church building all day long for people to be able to go through a series of unique and personal prayer events that follow through the final hours of Christ's life leading up to the crucifixion. Each year some of the prayer stations remain the same and a few of them change in order to keep pieces of the experience fresh.
Because these prayer stations are set up all over the building we need lots of hands on Thursday evening (following our Maundy Thursday service - Approx. 8:30pm) to set up each station and get things ready to roll when the doors open on Friday morning. We also have a great need for lots of hands again on Friday evening when it's time to tear down everything, clean up behind ourselves and make each room look "normal".
If any of you would be willing to come out and help it would be greatly appreciated! Please reply with a quick e-mail to let Kim Dick know if you plan to jump in on Thursday at 8:30pm to help with set up or on Friday at 9pm to help with tear down. Prayer Retreat w/guest facilitators Steve & Kay Heinz: theme is on Global Prayer
ThirdPlace Prayer Retreat Saturday, April 10th at 8:30am-12:30pm at 1250 University Drive:
With guest facilitators Steve & Kay Heinz, the prayer retreat will be a unified time of corporate prayer and worship combined with solitude and time for reflection and connecting with God!
We'll join together in prayer that morning in Fellowship Hall at 1250 University Drive for a time of worship and corporate prayer from 8:30am-9:30am. Then we will break off for a time of reflection and solitude and you can go wherever you want (indoors or outdoors) and find some time to pray, journal, paint, sing...whatever you prefer! (9:30am-11:00am). We will come together then at 11:00am in Fellowship Hall for a time of sharing, corporate worship and prayer. There will be some prayer guides made available to help better guide your time alone; feel free to use them or do your own thing. Bring whatever supplies you'll need (journal, paints, music, etc) and join us for an exciting time to "unite in prayer" for the World, our community, and each other!
Don't miss this opportunity, it's a great way to connect with God and others! Breakfast, coffee, and tea will be provided :)

CityServe Project Leaders Needed
CityServe is a multi-church initiative to serve the Centre Region! This year will be the 3rd annual CityServe weekend. In the past we've been able to complete many projects including building a handicap accessibility ramp, cleaning for the elderly, assisting local human resource organizations with yard work, visiting residents in local nursing homes, and painting projects, etc. CityServe is right around the corner (April 17 & 18) and we need YOU! We cancel Church services that weekend and we go and BE the Church!

ThirdPlace Broomball @ PSU Ice Rink!
Saturday, April 24th at 10:00pm: Broomball at the Penn State Ice Pavilion!! What is Broomball you might be asking? Well, it's a Penn State tradition and an absolute BLAST!!
Basically, you have two teams with a bunch of brooms and balls...everyone is on the ice with sneakers on and you try to get as many of your pucks in the other teams nets...it's a bizarre ice sport, but we think it's fabulous!! I know it's late, but that's part of the experience (it's always a late night event because it takes them some time to get the rink broomball ready!). So, get your game face on and take it out on the ice! The cost is $3 per person. Please RSVP to: thirdplace@calvarysc.org by this Friday, April 23rd so we know how many teams we have. And please feel free to invite anyone you want, the more players, the better!"

'A series of films and forums exploring the various representations of Jesus -- from the reverential to the controversial -- on the silver screen.'
Brainstorming began among the State Theatre Film Collective of a film or collection of films to pique the interest of community movie-goers. At this time it was shortly after Easter and the thought of religion in film was brought to the table. There are many community members that are interested in the topic of religion.
We think these movies will appeal to a broad audience, not just those sitting in pews or congregations but also film buffs and cultural critics among us.
Shows begin at 7 pm.
There will be a 10 minute 'debrief' followed by a 30-40 minute Q & A for each selection.
$5*, $3* Students
